L.H.O.O.Q & company

for my nineteenth birthday at mr. pickwick's we put a moustache on mona in true DADA fashion, kinda like this one here.

except this one is by Dali and sports a much more 'signature' tache, a reinvention of marcel duchamp's parody, L.H.O.O.Q. here, dali is representing himself as an artist maintaining his own subjectivity, as both the creator and self-created.

duchamp's ready-made aided 'objet trouve' pokes fun at the sexual ambiguity of the mona lisa as well as makes a snide reference to leonardo's own homosexuality.
